Here's what we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team. The ideal candidate for this position will have significant experience in technical and operational accounting within an expanding startup, as well as a broad range of knowledge in other accounting functions such as taxation, compliance, HR, payroll, etc.
You will actively participate in developing reporting tools aimed at improving efficiency and collaborate with operational teams to implement optimization projects based on results analysis.
Your daily responsibilities
- You are responsible for preparing financial statements, summary statements, and other profitability analysis and financial management reports or coordinating their preparation;
- Supervising general accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, invoicing, and accounts receivable and payable;
- Managing cash flows and validating that they are in line with forecasts to ensure the company's liquidity and solvency, identifying discrepancies, and proposing improvements/changes to management;
- Managing accounts payable/ accounts receivable functions to ensure that all invoices are entered in a timely and accurate manner, that vendor relationships are managed and prioritized, and that obligations are met in a timely manner;
- Ensuring compliance with current financial and tax regulations and coordinating external audits if necessary;
- Coordinating the production of tax returns, as well as any other requirements with government agencies (CNESST, payroll, TVP/TVQ, taxes, others);
- Maximizing tax credits and subsidies related to the development of technological products (SR&ED);
- Ensuring that all administrative, legal, financial, and human resources documentation is well filed and securely structured;
- Participating in the financial planning and budgeting process, analyzing and adjusting forecasts.
Your skills and experience
- You have a bachelor's degree in finance/accounting, CPA title;
- 5+ years of accounting experience;
- High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and judgment;
- You must be able to think outside the box and show initiative;
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes;
- You must demonstrate strong time management, analytical and logical reasoning skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail for data accuracy and excellent reconciliation skills;
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively;
- Knowledge of Business Central, Sensaas, PowerBi, and SQL is a plus;
- Ability to effectively prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through on all tasks;
- Capability to perform tasks with minimal supervision;
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
